A story of love,

passion, and boldness…

A story of love,

passion, and boldness…

Our history: the beginning…

The history of our champagne house starts with love. That of our parents’, Gabriel Baron & Dolorès Fuenté. Passionate and bold, they made the house’s first cuvées exclusively with grapes from the family’s 17th century vines located in Charly-sur-Marne.

The Baron-Fuenté brand was born.

Passion and boldness are the core values our parents passed down to us. They are the values that inspire us every day. They are our driving force and bring us the joy and sparkle found in the bubbles of our champagne!

Our history: the details…

We are proud to have taken up the reins of the family business our parents founded. We are equally proud to run it with our teams which represent a wonderful blend of our respective skills and roles.

Ignace, the keeper of our champagne and its secrets, is at the helm of the vineyard, the production, and the making of each of our house’s cuvées.

With her energy and elegance, Sophie heads the administrative and management departments, as well as and the brand’s business development in France and abroad.

Since the 2000s, we have been working hand in hand to continually reach our objective of perfecting our cuvées and innovating their wine-making process.

To do so, we have optimised and modernised our production facilities by expanding our cellars, vat room, and labelling workshop with new equipment that combines technology, quality, and improved working conditions.

The vineyard now stretches to Château-Thierry with the Baron-Fuenté and Lété-Vautrain families coming together.

Today some cuvées are vinified in oak barrels while others are made from grapes grown on organic parcels.

Our location…

Only a few kilometers from Paris.

Our vineyard is situated in Charly-sur-Marne, west of the Champagne winemaking region, on gorgeous slopes called Coteaux de la Vallée de la Marne. The winding river flows towards Paris and into the Seine and provides the various parcels with an abondance of sun and shelter from the cold northerly winds.

The clay-limestone soil is perfect for growing Pinot Meunier, our terroir’s prime variety that gives the champagne its round and supple characteristics.

Ignace can be found in the vat rooms and labelling workshop wearing headphones. Is he protecting his ears from the noise or blasting music?

Our philosophy

Growing organic grapes is a proactive and carefully thought through decision. It is ethically based and also reflects the positive and coherent outlook for our champagne house, for our terroir, for our environment, and for our children’s future.

And our motivation criteria evolve every day! Mother nature and humans are the main players who have the deep desire to preserve the environment (water, soil, air, biodiversity) and our health by reducing inputs. Our boldness also plays a part.
This boldness fosters our desire to rise to technical and climatic challenges, and to innovate and adapt to rethink our profession.

It is indeed exciting, and your recognition is the best reward of all.
